🌱 March – May

Spawn Run — Western Basin

As water temps reach 44–50°F, massive walleye schools migrate from the deeper central and eastern basins into the shallow, rocky western basin near Toledo and the Maumee River to spawn. After the spawn, fish gradually push east along the Ohio shoreline toward Cleveland.

☀️ June – July

Central Basin Push — Prime Cleveland Season

Post-spawn walleye spread into the central basin and move east toward Cleveland. This is prime time for Pro-Tek charters — fish are active, feeding aggressively, and staging in 20–40 feet of water off the Cleveland shoreline. Trolling with stickbaits and crawler harnesses produces big numbers.

🔆 August – September

Thermocline Depth — Suspended Fish

As surface temps climb, walleye drop to the thermocline — a cooler, oxygen-rich layer typically 25–40 feet down. Precision trolling depth with lead core line or snap weights puts you right in the zone. Fish don't disappear in summer — you just have to find their depth.

🍂 October – November

Fall Feed — Trophy Season

Fall turnover mixes the water column and triggers one of the most aggressive feeding periods of the year. Walleye bulk up before winter and the biggest fish of the year are caught now. Fish begin staging and slowly tracking west toward their winter grounds in the deeper central basin.
